On the morning of this Friday, May 3, the Santa Marta Metropolitan Police reported on the capture of four people, accused of being allegedly responsible for the murder of two adults and a minor in the Ayapel village, a rural area of the capital of Magdalena, in events recorded on October 10, 2023.

According to the Police, “after intelligence and judicial investigation work for more than six months, the uniformed officers managed to collect enough evidentiary material, which allowed them to identify the alleged perpetrators of the massacre.”
Along these lines, it was established that those captured would be part of the common organized criminal group. Conquering Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra Nevada, known as ‘the Pachencas’.

In coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, the arrests were made in Santa Marta, where alias Padrino, alias Rafita, alias Chespi and alias and Pata de Palo were captured, who must answer for the crimes of homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime and firearms trafficking.

According to the Santa Marta Police, ‘Rafita’, identified as Starlin Saharan Brito Rodríguez; Carlos Alberto Camejo Brito, ‘Chespi’; and Miguel Ángel Prada Carrillo alias Pata de palo, are also accused of having specific roles during “the execution of the criminal action and of carrying out other activities such as the execution of selective homicides, extortion and illegal dispossession of lands in the region, with the aim of strengthening the finances of the criminal organization.”
In the operation, seven cell phones and 7 million pesos in cash were seized.
