Santa Clara, May 3 (RHC) In order to establish the first world and national record of popular and sports dances, next Sunday, May 5 in the central province of Villa Clara, as in all of Cuba, dozens of casino wheels will dance simultaneously the length and breadth of the island at 6:00 in the afternoon.
According to Gerardo Arboláez Villavicencio, methodologist of the Dance specialty of the Provincial Center of Houses of Culture, 74 couples will dance throughout the Villa Clara territory, for a total of 148 casinos, who are ready for that important day in which groups of almost all the groups will participate. municipalities.
In Villa Clara there will generally be eleven groups: Santa Clara (Okokán, Nuestra América and a couple of stilt walkers), Quemado de Güines (Renovación), Sagua la Grande (Los Clásicos de la Salsa), Encrucijada (Talent of the neighborhood and Casineros del Centro, the latter from the El Santo Popular Council), Placetas (Dancers of Tomorrow), Santo Domingo (I am Cuban), Ranchuelo (Impacto Juvenil y Explosión Esperanceña, this one from the town of La Esperanza) and from Camajuaní there will be Bailadores de mi tierra.
“We invite all Villa Clara residents to participate in this world record that will take place in all the squares and central parks of these municipalities (or towns) to show the world that in Cuba you dance and enjoy casino,” said Arboláez Villavicencio.
On April 27, a mega rehearsal was held throughout the country so that the wheels could optimize their performances with the music and choreography prepared to seek the greatest synchronization.
In the geography of Villa Clara, the activity has been organized and prepared thanks to the work of the Provincial Center of Houses of Culture, under the guidance of its National Council, the Provincial Directorate and municipal directorates of Culture, the Inder, and the help of different organizations and institutions.
