The residents of the San Remo neighborhood are fed up with thefts

The residents of the San Remo neighborhood are tired of the insecurity. Days ago a motorcycle was stolen from the sector’s own police station. In addition, they assure that the criminals carry out prior intelligence and walk the area to mark and enter the homes to rob them. Also, they said that they have a WhatsApp group to alert them about the presence of unidentified people. Despite their efforts, they live in fear and feel that the area “is totally liberated from insecurity.” They ask that the provincial authorities take action on the matter.

In dialogue with El Tribuno, Roberto González, reported: “My son suffered a motorcycle accident on Saturday night on 3000 Tavella Avenue. He remains hospitalized at the San Bernardo Hospital and his motorcycle was detained at the San Remo police station. waiting for the corresponding expertise, so that the vehicle can be delivered to us. With everything about the accident and the guards we had to do, we were busy. And yesterday they told me that the motorcycle was not there, it was stolen from the police station.”

And he expressed: “I honestly couldn’t believe what they had told me. I met with the head of the department, but they don’t know when he went, nor the time, nor are there any camera records. We are waiting for news, the only thing they told me is that the actions have already been left in the hands of the brigade. And when they know something they will notify me.”

About the motorcycle stolen from the police station

Likewise, he said that it is a blue 110 motorcycle, Yamaha brand, Cripton model. “It is incredible that the police themselves are robbed, you can imagine what the neighbors go through and with the insecurity, here we talk about a liberated zone. According to the neighbors, every time they come to make a complaint, there is a lack of personnel.”

Regarding what happened with his son’s motorcycle, he commented that they will have to wait for news. “We are waiting for him to recover, we did not tell him that his motorcycle disappeared, because it would be another blow for him, since it is his means of transportation. He bought it coin by coin. I ask that they find her and give us an answer.” And he added: “We no longer know what to do with the robberies, apparently we have to be armed because they don’t protect us. He did not explain to me what they were doing, since they took a motorcycle under their noses.”

Meanwhile, Roberto, a local resident, commented that they have a mechanical workshop and that he also suffered the theft of items from a client and his house. “We file a report with the police and they tell us that they are going to recover the things and nothing happens. We are afraid of reprisals, we have a WhatsApp group for security and we began to share photos of suspicious movements, to alert each other.” Then, he explained that near his home there is a vacant lot, where several people sleep and others enter and leave with stolen things. “We see many people who are not from the neighborhood, I lost hope, I had to spend out of my pocket to replace what was stolen from me. Since it was from a client’s car and it is my responsibility to answer for those things. “We don’t know what we are going to do.”

The vice president of the Neighborhood Center, Abel Moya, said that insecurity in the area is growing. “We found out about the motorcycle that was stolen from the police station. But there was also another robbery in the area, on Mar Ártico Street, where a neighbor was robbed, who saw the thief and left as if he were in his house. The same thing happened in a house on Mar Argentino Street, which overlooks the Super Libertad, where they forced the gate, all week there are different types of robberies,” he said and also added: “In the Scalabrini Ortiz neighborhood, which is very close , they took a boy’s cell phone. “The wave of insecurity is greater day by day.”

Several meetings were held with police authorities

On the other hand, he highlighted that from the San Remo Neighborhood Center, several meetings were held with the police authorities, but with no results: “The truth is that the different authorities come and then they patrol, but then they calm down and nothing happens . The robberies continue and this area is increasingly unsafe, we will have to be locked in our homes.”

He also said that given the situation, several neighbors had to buy cameras to install in their homes. Despite this, the thefts do not stop. “For example, on Mar Ártico Street, we identified the thief, we passed the material to the brigade, who then found the boy’s address, however he is still free.”

According to what was provided by the neighborhood representative, it is a police station that covers 27 neighborhoods and has only 7 officers, of which 3 do administrative tasks, and 4 remain to tour the neighborhoods. “Although they recently brought a cell phone to the area, it is not enough. Since it is for the entire jurisdiction and they will not be able to cover all the neighborhoods. We ask that the province increase the number of police officers, since these criminals do intelligence all day to break in and steal. We are tired,” concluded Abel Moya.
