The inaugural show at night will be on Carretera del Morro and Calle 3, a place known as “the thermometer of Cuban popular music.” The Aragón orchestra, the Original de Manzanillo and the Septeto Santiaguero will perform at the gala.
On May 9, 10 and 11, Santiago residents will be able to enjoy the Cuban Son in the Martí and San Pedro Calle Heredia areas, the patio of the Elvira Cape Provincial Library, the Tivolí, the Claqueta, the Salón del Son, the Patio de Artex .
On the 10th at the Elvira Cape library there will be the premiere of the documentary “De la loma y el llano”, about the local group Septeto Santiaguero, which will be presented on the 11th at the Salón del Son.
The MatamoroSon will be dedicated to the life and work of the Santiago composer Rodulfo Vaillant, the 130th anniversary of the birth of Miguel Matamoros and the 35th anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Music Institution, among other celebrations that exalt this Creative City in Music.
