The places in Mendoza that provoke an intense desire to eat

In the following weekly recommendation I have opted for the classics that never fail. They are known not only for their age but also for their exquisiteness, obviously. Google has become the criticism tool par excellence and Internet users do not stop giving their opinion. Let’s see, which are the most voted food places.

Starting with Barloa, where the lomitos are legend:

The mention of the word “lomo” in Mendoza inevitably evokes Barloa, a mythical place that has managed to become synonymous with this sandwich. Founded in the early ’90s by Humberto Barloa, the establishment has its roots in the need to confront hyperinflation during the government of Ricardo Alfonsín.

Although fate presented obstacles, such as the fire at the premises on January 1, 2013, Barloa resurfaced in just 44 days thanks to the solidarity of neighbors and municipal support.

The corner of San Martín and Morales, in Las Heras, is the temple of grilled lomitos.

The inevitable Ta Rada and its homemade food

Located in France and Paso de los Andes, by Godoy Cruz, Ta Rada stands as a sanctuary for Milanese lovers. With more than 60 years of culinary experience, owner Marta Manrique infuses vitality and enthusiasm into every dish that comes out of her kitchen.

Local diners claim that Ta Rada’s Milanese are the best in Argentina, making this establishment a gastronomic reference point in the region.

Don Coco, the home of authentic pasta

In the Fourth Section, Don Coco stands as a reference in the art of pasta. Offering a wide range of options, from ravioli to lasaa, this restaurant is also known for its 12-egg omelette and a homemade flan that exceeds all expectations.

In 1971, the family arrived from General Alvear with the intention of setting up a business. After going back and forth, they set up a foosball club, which many young people in the neighborhood could enjoy. Then, over time, they opened the kitchen.

The corner of Flix Bogado and Dr. Moreno in Ciudad is the meeting point for many lovers of food in the best bodegn style.

Capri, Mendoza’s pizza

With a daily production that ranges between 300 and 400 pizzas, Capri has earned a reputation for its exquisite mozzarella and special ham options. The distinctive thing about this place goes beyond quality, since its pizzas are ready in a matter of minutes. Located on Lavalle Street, just past San Juan de Ciudad, this pizza restaurant combines speed and flavor to satisfy the most demanding palates.
