A serious accident occurred on Friday night in Godoy Cruz when a drunk driver ran over a preventer and a police officer who were in an operation for another road accident.
The incident occurred after 11:00 p.m. this Friday at the South Access and Carril Sarmiento de Godoy Cruz when members of the Road Police and preventers from this department were at the scene because an accident had previously occurred between eight vehicles.
A driver aboard a Ford EcoSport at full speed took the cones, a member of the Mendoza Police and a preventer.

After the impact, the municipal employee who was on duty died at the scene, while the police officer was rushed to the Central Hospital. The man underwent surgery and due to his injuries, he suffered the amputation of one of his legs.
The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test and returned 2.68 grams of alcohol in his blood. He was detained.
