Transportation of university students begins through the Santiago-Guantánamo train

As a result of the coordination between Government authorities and Higher Education, the transportation of students through the Santiago-Guantánamo train began. An exclusive service for students that provides transportation addresses for both provinces.

Departures from Guantánamo will be on Mondays and Fridays at 4:00 am, while the return will be at 1:00 pm on those same days.

Tickets will be purchased at the box office, university students will pay 50 percent of that fee, or 50 pesos, as long as they present their student ID. The train will also benefit the population depending on the availability of capacities, although on trips that directly support entry and exit from universities, priority will be given to students, who must always carry the card that accredits them as such.

The train, which leaves as part of a coordination between the UEB Ferrocarriles de Cuba and the Universidad de Oriente, will have five cars with a capacity of 75 passengers each, which will undoubtedly ease traffic between the two cities.

The well-being of its students is a primary task for the Eastern Alma Mater, which is why it will continue to ensure compliance with this agreement.
