Nearly 400 new businesses join the “Santa Fe Agreement”, the program of the Ministry of Productive Development of the Provincial Government, which offers 45 products from the basic basket at reference prices. In this way, there are already more than 500 participating businesses in 50 locations in the provincial territory: “Since last Thursday, Agreement Santa Fe can be found in supermarket chains, but also in sales rooms, kiosks, self-services and warehouses; that is, in all nearby stores, totaling more than 500 outlets,” indicated the provincial secretary of Domestic Commerce and Services of the provincial government, Gustavo Rezzoaglio.

Quality public policy

Complementing what was stated, Rezzoaglio pointed out that the price update presented by the Santa Fe Agreement month by month is well below average inflation: “In March, the average variation of our proposal was 5.21% while in April, it was only of 1%. Many of the products did not increase prices from stage to stage, and some went down. This is achieved thanks to the joint effort with supermarkets, minimarkets and kiosks that adhered to and trusted this idea. There is no better policy than one that is built from the bottom up, with the predisposition and commitment of the private sector. Finally, the official of the productive portfolio headed by Minister Gustavo Puccini stressed: “We are the first province to implement a program of these characteristics from December until now. Its continuity is important not only to confront the rise in prices with a concrete and accessible response, but also with the premise of promoting the regional industry, given that the majority of the offer is focused on products made in Santa Fe.”

Articulated work

The presentation of the new associated businesses took place at the Fisherton Concentration Market in Rosario and was also attended by the director of Open Shopping Centers, Alejandro Pastore and representatives of Rosario Compras, Unión Almaceneros, Association of Kioskers and Chamber of Warehouses and Wholesale Distributors of the region, who highlighted the initiative: “When consumption declines, it is essential that the entire commercial chain and the State are united. In complex times, large companies must accompany the efforts of all links in the chain,” considered Gabriel Vidalle from Rosario Compras. For his part, the vice president of the Chamber of Wholesalers, Martín Parodi, considered: “From the Chamber, we are always ready to help. We hope that this action will bring benefits to both the points of sale and the end consumer.”

Santa Fe Agreement

It should be remembered that the Santa Fe Agreement is a plan of the Provincial Government through the Ministry of Productive Development. It offers a basic basket of products at reference prices for 30 days and includes essential items such as groceries, drinks, meats and sausages; cold cuts and refrigerated meats; dairy, cleaning and grooming; breaded, without TACC, fruits and vegetables. Both the prices and the participating locations can be consulted by entering www.santafe.gob.ar/preciossantafe.
