The governor of Chubut, Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, met this Friday in Buenos Aires with the director of the Center for Public Policies for Equity and Growth (CIPPEC), Gala Díaz Langou, with the purpose of coordinating the development of an agenda of joint work that allows strengthening technical assistance in key areas of the Government, such as education, Institutional transparency and administrative digitalization for the modernization of the provincial State.

EDUCATION

As the Chubut president stated from his first day in office, the educational agenda continues to be a priority for the provincial government, and in that sense, Torres assured that “the technical assistance in educational matters that we will address with CIPPEC will allow us to have updated indicators that demonstrate effective improvement in the different areas of the provincial educational system.”

On the other hand, the governor highlighted the “federal role” of the prestigious Public Policy Center, and mentioned that it is an institution that “for more than 20 years has been working with governments of different political groups, providing effective initiatives, the result of research, knowledge of public management and work in the territory.”

TRANSPARENCY

Likewise, the head of the provincial Executive proposed as a specific objective of his administration to improve and strengthen the image that Chubut inherited in terms of quality and institutional transparency, highlighting in this sense that at the time of taking office the province was in the last position in the economic and institutional transparency rankings. In this sense, the president also highlighted that a few days ago the Argentine Institute of Fiscal Analysis recognized Chubut as one of the three best administered provinces in the entire country, which was possible thanks to the commitment assumed in these first months of government. .

In this regard, Torres said that during the meeting with CIPPEC work was done precisely with the purpose of guaranteeing the institutional transparency that is so necessary to attract investments, and he announced that the Institute’s technical teams will analyze the possibility of advancing a reform of the electoral system with Single Ballot, as other Argentine provinces have already implemented in recent years.

On this point, the provincial leader himself highlighted that to attract investments and improve competitiveness, it is essential that Chubut “provide a quality, transparent institutional framework with legal certainty.”

MODERNIZE THE STATE

In addition, the meeting had as its axis of agreement the Administrative Digitalization for the Modernization of the Provincial State. To this end, CIPPEC committed to providing training for the implementation of digital management tools, which will make it possible to streamline the various procedures that the province manages on a daily basis and gradually abandon physical files to shorten bureaucratic times in all areas of the Chubut State.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Government of Chubut, Guillermo Aranda; and the directors of CIPPEC: María Victoria Álvarez, director of Public Affairs; Esteban Torre, director of Education; Mauro Solano, director of State and Government; and María Eugenia Zamarreño, associate researcher at the study center.
