Where and when? The details of the unprecedented wrestling show that will take place in La Serena

On Saturday, May 25, La Serena will have a unique wrestling show at the Monumental Coliseum.

This was announced by Víctor Juica, professor at the Culto Academy, who explained that it is a local super-production that aims to position this discipline among the cultists of the Coquimbo Region.

There will be more than two hours of combat in the Serene ring with a program that includes an artistic show. “The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. There will be a total of five fights with a very good level of production and artistic show,” Juica highlighted.

In this sense and for the followers of regional and national wrestling, it stands out that the main fight will be animated by “Perfecto Bundy”, the former Master Chef participant and legend of national wrestling, against Víctor Juica himself, known as Mocha Drake, and who is establishing himself as the face and greatest exponent of regional wrestling.

Although Juica and several of the exponents who will be in the ring that Saturday afternoon have enough experience participating in these events, he recognizes that it is the first time that they are the protagonists directly. “We debuted as wrestlers, but it is the first time in an original event in the Coquimbo Region, where we will have a debutant. The rest of the fighters have national and international experience.”

Juica, currently a teacher at the Culto academy, started in the region six years ago, although he points out that it has not been easy to position himself in this sport. “Now we are starting a wrestling scene. There is fighting throughout the country, from Arica to the extreme south, but not in the region. Many companies have done wrestling shows, but none from here. That is why we are formalizing the invitation to the local public. It would be the first original show in the Coquimbo Region, where we intend to consolidate ourselves,” he stated.

Juica or Mocha Drake, explains that he has been attracted to this discipline since he was little. “Wrestling is a passion that has moved me since I was a child, as well as those of us who have managed to train as wrestlers. I went to Mexico City four times to start wrestling and the idea is for the public to get to know this spectacle sport in our area,” he indicated.

In this sense, he considers that by showing the talents in the area we can generate greater interest, and “make ourselves known as an academy, attracting a greater number of students. Many people do not know that there is wrestling and we want them to know, so that the public sees it as a regional alternative.”

Currently, the fighters train at the Metagym gym, located at 2585 La Cantera Avenue. “That is where we train physically, which is physical conditioning, such as techniques in the ring and in fighting,” he explained.

It is worth remembering that tickets for this event can be obtained at https://www.passline.com/eventos/lucha-libre, although on the same day of the competition they will be sold in person at the sports venue with values ranging from $3,500 up to $15,000.
