The Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, criticized the general strike called by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) for next Thursday, calling it a “somewhat unjustified political strike.”

According to the official, the measure of force does not make sense in a context in which the majority of Argentines have high expectations and hopes in the management of President Javier Milei.

“In the majority there is great expectation and hope that this process of change can continue to be carried out,” Francos said in radio statements. He felt that since the country is showing signs of recovery, it would be wiser to wait and be patient rather than trying to stop the country with a strike.

Francos questioned the effectiveness of the strike, ensuring that the intention is to stop the country

“When we are beginning to see signs of recovery, it is time to wait, to be patient and not stop, because on top of that they don’t have the intention to stop the country.

“He has no head or tail,” he concluded.
