With more than 50% of the valid votes cast, the governors and vice-governors were elected in the provinces of Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Santiago de Cuba, positions that had remained vacant.

The voting process was carried out throughout the country with the electoral authorities, deputies and presidents of the municipal electoral councils, as explained in a press conference by Alina Balseiro Gutiérrez, president of the National Electoral Council (CEN).

The positions of governor and vice-governor, respectively, were constituted by Marieta Poey Zamora and Lázaro Vicente Suárez Navarro, in Matanzas; Milaxy Yanet Sánchez Armas and Noel Cecilio Chinea Pérez, in Villa Clara; Yolexis Rodríguez Armada and Rolando José Rajadel Alzuri, in Cienfuegos; and Manuel Falcón Hernández and Waldis González Peinado, in Santiago de Cuba.

The National Electoral Council reported that the total number of constituencies in the country is 12,429, of which 3,433 participated in the process on May 4, corresponding to the aforementioned four provinces.

Of the total of 3,408 delegates to attend (there are 25 vacant places), 3,353 attended, for 98.39%.

3,318 ballots were valid for 98.96%. Of the total valid ballots, 3,016 were voted by everyone, representing 90.90%, and 302 were voted selectively, representing 9.10%.
