The volunteers of this civil association have been working tirelessly since its foundation, created by teacher Mirta Antón, to fulfill the objective of bringing help to people in need, a work that is increasing day by day.
The Trelew Solidarity Fair, whose hall is located at 25 de Mayo Street 1,531, sells to the public a multitude of products, with the proceeds of which are purchased, from clothing, to food, furniture and medicines that they take to local people and institutions, from others. localities, even places far from urban centers.
The aid even transcends the border, reaching the province of Entre Ríos, where a few days ago the second aid arrived at the “Corazón Solidario Maciá” picnic area, with more than 1,000 items of clothing that will be used to distribute among those who attend there and to the fairs they hold with the aim of raising funds.
The first aid to that picnic area was carried out in November 2023, and from there several have been carried out, bringing clothing, footwear, handbags and scarves, toys, stuffed animals, utensils, ornaments, fabrics, pillows, which on the one hand allowed for conditioning the place and on the other hand moving forward with the fairs.
To this commendable task, the Trelew Solidarity Fair adds many deliveries made in recent days, such as those that were sent to El Chalia, Lago Blanco and Ricardo Rojas, with blankets and warm clothing for women, men and children, as well as feet of bed made with leather bags that could be recovered.
On the other hand, with the help of Trelew resident Nelson Sifuentes, they sent hats, scarves and gloves to the interior of the province, a distribution that is carried out in coordination with different towns. Another institution to which he brought help was School Nø608 for Youth and Adults, with many colorful scraps that they will use in their sewing workshops; and also to the SUM of the El Escorial area, with clothing for adults and three boxes with plates, glasses and a variety of plastic containers.
The entire task of preparing and sending deliveries is carried out when the volunteers are not in front of the public. «From Monday to Saturday this team doesn’t stop. We are proud to show you that the majority of everything you donate goes directly to people who will be able to use it, in addition to the part that we put on sale to be able to invest in food,” they highlight. The Fair is open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
