The Investigative Police confirmed the discovery alive of María José Berríos Veira, a 21-year-old student who was missing since the beginning of this week in Valparaíso.
The civil police detailed that the student, studying Livestock Veterinary Technician at the Duoc UC Institute of Valparaíso, It appeared in an uncultivated place near the Quilpué zoo.
Subprefect Flavio Espinoza, of the Valparaíso Homicide Brigade, explained to Meganoticias that “based on an order to investigate issued by the Public Ministry due to alleged misfortune, in favor of a 20-year-old girl of Chilean nationality, “The detectives formed a work team from this specialized brigade, managing to establish that on May 1 a complaint was made in her favor.”
“Based on this, an analysis of the first information obtained is carried out, and relatives and friends of the victim are located, from whom statements were taken. QLater, using the technical part, that is, telephone antennas and security cameras, it is possible to establish a dynamic of this missing young woman,” explained Espinoza.
The PDI representative indicated that these procedures allowed the discovery of the student this Friday. “She is located alive in a vacant lot, near the zoo of the Quilpué commune,” he added.
After this, she was referred to the commune’s Base Hospital to verify injuries and her family was informed of her appearance.
María José Berríos’ trace was lost last Monday, after returning to her apartment after attending classes.
