The government of Entre Ríos has proposed putting emphasis on the Medical Residency system, in order to promote training in specialties in the province. This learning system is based on supervised practice with increasing responsibilities, appropriate for each level and individual. It is oriented towards a specialty and is paid.
In general, the training process lasts four years, with the first three being exclusive dedication. Starting in the fourth year, enrollment is unlocked, allowing residents to function in the private sphere or outside the institution that is training them.
In our province, the Coordination of Medical Residences of the Ministry of Health of Entre Ríos is in charge of carrying out the process. The head of the area, Daniela Bello, highlighted that the training “implies an enriching educational experience, since it entails the power of on-the-job training and the values that underlie the practices.”
Likewise, the coordination seeks to strengthen and expand the preparation of professionals. In this sense, Bello indicated: “This year we incorporated evaluation instruments to improve residence systems, athenaeums, training in conjunction with nursing, classes taught by teaching collaborators and, in addition, we are working on different annual courses transversal to all residences. , such as research methodology or Argentine Sign Language, among others”.
Precisions
In this call the specialties to compete are: Medical clinic; Neurology; General and family medicine; Orthopedics and traumatology; Pediatrics; Tocogynecology; Cardiology; Anesthesiology; General Surgery; Emergentology; Health epidemiology; Children’s surgery; community obstetrics; Hematology; Adult intensive therapy – (articulated basic); Adult nephrology (articulated basic); Clinical Biochemistry; Neonatology basic post; Post basic – adult intensive therapy; Basic post – palliative care; Post basic – pediatric intensive therapy; Interdisciplinary mental health (Psychiatry, Social Work, Occupational Therapy; Nursing; Social Communication; Psychology) and Interdisciplinary child and adolescent mental health (Psychology- Psychopedagogy- Medicine).
In total, 48 national and 96 provincial scholarships are being competed for (the number of places varies depending on the specialty). In this first week of registrations, 117 pre-registrations were already registered, while last year there were 106 in total.
Both the single exam and the post-basic exam and other specialties will take place on Tuesday, July 2 (with a location to be confirmed).
