Western Regiotram: What is the exact route it will have?

The project of Regiotram of the West has aroused great interest among the inhabitants of Bogotá and the surrounding municipalities, this public transport will improve the quality of life and connectivity of the inhabitants of these regions. Since it promises to significantly improve transportation to and from the capital, as well as to Madrid, Mosquera, Funza and Facatativá, once it comes into operation in 2026.

The Mayor of Bogotá and the Government of Cundinamarca have financed the project works with an investment that exceeds 1.7 billion pesos. In addition, it is expected that when the Western Regiotram begins to operate contribute to economic and social development region of; taking into account that the project is part of a much broader plan that includes the operation of other trains that connect municipalities near the Colombian capital, with the aim of improving public transportation and infrastructure in the area.

It is expected that the service of Regiotram operates with a more organized frequencywith six-minute step intervals for the route Bogotá-Funza-Mosqueratwelve minutes for the Bogotá-Madrid route and twenty-four minutes for the Bogotá-Facatativá route.

This aspect is very important, since the frequency of service has been one of the main criticism of other public transportation systems in Bogotá. If Regiotram complies with what is established, it could become a highly efficient means of inter-municipal transportationgenerating greater satisfaction among passengers.

As for the stops, a total of 17 have been planned, distributed between Cundinamarca and Bogotá. Cundinamarca will have eight stops, while Bogotá will have nine, strategically located at different points in the city and nearby municipalities.
