Oscar Muntes, General Secretary of the State Workers Association (ATE) in Entre Ríos, declared “insufficient” the salary offer of the Government of Entre Ríos, which proposed a 4% increase for April – which contemplates 3% already settled – and 10% more to be paid in two installments of 5% for the months of May and June.

“We already knew the proposal, this is how it is. We are going to tell the whole reality. It is true that we had been knowing the proposal to our fellow teachers and that it was not going to be a different proposal,” said Muntes, in reference to the absence of the teachers. representatives of UPCN, the other state union, who did not appear at the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that only representatives of ATE Entre Ríos attended the meeting. The delegates of UPCN, the other state union, argued that they would not attend given that the salary offer would be the same as the one the Government made to the teachers and they already considered it insufficient.

In addition, Muntes requested that the state and teacher unions be convened simultaneously for the next joint meetings. “It is insufficient and we need another proposal. On May 9 we are going to stop and we are going to mobilize for the layoffs at the national level and for a superior proposal at the provincial level,” he added.
