IN A In a world of constant search for enriching experiences, Colombia stands out as a destination that captivates the senses of those who visit it and that is why, recently, the figures for inbound tourism in the country continue to show great progress.

A report carried out by UN tourism in association with Amadeus, revealed that the performance of the sector in the Americas continues to increase, but, in addition, Colombia is becoming a relevant destination in South America.

“Colombia is emerging as a first-rate tourist destination, it has an unparalleled wealth of gastronomic, cultural, nature and historical manifestations; It is a universe of experiences and that is precisely what attracts foreign visitors who choose our territory as their next place to enjoy their vacations or hold business events,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of Anato.

In fact, it is projected that, for the next four months, the country will be the second with the most arrivals in air traffic, behind Brazil.

“We see potential in the South American market, since 88% of total air traffic is intraregional, that is, between South American countries; while the remaining 12% is carried out outside the subcontinent, so this is an opportunity to continue working on the country’s image, its promotion and increasing the flow of routes and air frequencies with the region,” concluded the leader. union.

In 2023, Colombia has had favorable growth in tourism, because at the end of 2023 it registered a record income of US$9 billion from air transportation of passengers and travel, which means a growth of 22.4% compared to 2022.
