The governor of Casanare, César Ortiz Zorro, met with members of the Capresoca workers’ union and officials to address the entity’s financial outlook and present strengthening actions. The meeting also served to call for unity in the search for solutions to improve the health system in the midst of the sectoral crisis.

Accompanied by the manager of Capresoca EPS, Haison Omar Carillo Lemus, and his technical team, as well as by the department’s Secretary of Health, Tatiana Chávez, deputy Heyder Alexander Silva and representatives of the entity’s Users Association, the governor expressed the need to join forces to save both Capresoca and the Orinoquía Regional Hospital and Red Salud.

Ortiz Zorro recognized the difficult financial situation of the EPS, which presents a monthly deficit of more than $9,000 million due to the high billing of services and the insufficient turnover of the ADRES. He stated that solutions are being sought to avoid the liquidation of the institution, which provides coverage to about 176 thousand users and covers high-cost diseases.

The financial crisis also affects the Orinoquía Regional Hospital and Red Salud Casanare, which face significant debts. Given this situation, the governor announced the convening of a technical working group with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the National Planning Department to request authorization to access future validity of the General Royalties System and financially strengthen the department’s public network. and Capresoca.

Among the proposals to save the EPS include its transformation into a Health and Life Manager, as well as the viability of the regionalization project to expand coverage in other departments of the Orinoquía.
