This process seeks to guarantee the well-being, quality of life and recognition of rights of this population group.

The Santa Marta District Health Secretariat reported that it is planned to begin the process of issuing disability certifications and the registration of location and characterization of people with disabilities, starting in June of this year, in accordance with the provisions of the Resolution 1239 of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

This process, framed in the total commitment of Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello with the population with disabilities in the district of Santa Marta, seeks to guarantee the well-being, quality of life and the recognition of rights of this population group.

According to the health portfolio, all necessary administrative, financial and legal adjustments are being made to respond to the needs and concerns of people with disabilities and their caregivers. Among them, the verification of requirements for new IPS interested in participating in the certification process stands out, as well as the update of the Registry of Location and Characterization of People with Disabilities (RLCPD) platform.

In addition, it calls on private companies that wish to manage their own resources to finance the disability certifications of their workers, which must direct said people to our offices with a letter of intent, as established by current regulations.

“Our commitment is to contribute to the well-being, quality of life and recognition of rights of all people with disabilities and their caregivers in the district of Santa Marta,” they concluded.

Press release.
