The Casanare authorities plan to ask the national government to allow them to program economic resources for future royalties to pay the debts of the Orinoquia Regional Hospital (Horo), the Social Security Fund (Capresoca) and Red Salud.

According to the governor of the department, César Ortiz Zorro, the health system offered in Casanare requires reengineering that allows the IPS to survive economically, because as they are operating they are not viable. According to the president, Capresoca invoices monthly for the provision of services about 25,000 million pesos and only receives 16,000 million, adding a deficit of 9,000 million pesos each month.

The situation at the Orinoquia Regional Hospital is no less chaotic, since in the balance sheets revealed by the governor, the IPS has accounts payable that are in the order of 64,000 million pesos, dating back to 2023.

The Hospital, which needs 4,000 million pesos per month to function normally, if it continues without financial support it will close with more than 100,000 million in debt, with a collection indicator of only 49 percent and with a 70 percent budget. engaged.

Red Salud has 13,500 million pesos in accounts payable for 2023, of which 3,500 million are a payable liability and 8,000 million correspond to a Capresoca debt.

One of the proposed alternatives is to convert Capresoca into a regional EPS, so that it can extend services to a greater number of users and enter the contributory regime, so that it can have access to additional resources.

This situation will be planned to the Minister of Health in a hearing scheduled for this Wednesday, May 8, where, in addition to the departmental authorities, the managers of Horo and Capresoca and the union leaders of the health organizations will be present.
