CAPITALS May 07. 2024 (Saba) – A number of European cities witnessed on Tuesday student demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine and in protest against the brutal Zionist-American aggression on the Gaza Strip.

According to the Associated Press, the German police stormed the courtyard of the University of Berlin Tuesday and forcibly dispersed a protest organized by several hundred pro-Palestinian activists to condemn the Zionist-American aggression on the Gaza Strip.

It applied the police used pepper spray against the demonstrators, who erected about 20 tents and formed a human chain around the tents, while most of the demonstrators covered their faces with medical masks and wrapped Kafyah scarves around their heads, chanting slogans such as “Long live Palestine.”

In Finland, dozens of demonstrators from the Student Solidarity Group for Palestine set up camp outside the main building of the University of Helsinki, Finland’s largest academic institution, demanding that the university sever academic relations with Israeli universities.”

In Denmark, students set up a pro-Palestinian camp at the University of Copenhagen and erected about 45 tents outside the campus of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Members of the Students Against the Zionist Enemy group said on their Facebook page “Previous attempts to talk to the administration about divestment from companies with ties to Zionist settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories have been in vain.” They emphasized that “mere dialogue does not lead to concrete action.”

In Italy, students at the University of Bologna, one of the oldest universities in the world, set up a camp to demand an end to the war in Gaza.

While groups of students organized similar protests in Rome and Naples.

Dozens of students in Spain also spent more than a week in a pro-Palestinian camp on the campus of the University of Valencia, and similar camps were held in The University of Barcelona and the University of the Basque Country.

A group representing public university students in Madrid announced that it would intensify protests against the war in the coming days.
