A work full of laughter and reflection on friendship arrives on the stages of La Docta on the third weekend of May. Is about ARTa play written by Yasmina Reza and directed by Ricardo Darín and Germán Palacioswith the prominence of Fernán Mirás, Pablo Echarri and Martín Slipak.
With more than 14 years on stage, the play reaches the Cordoban public next Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at the Ciudad de las Artes Theater. It is worth mentioning that previously, Mike Amigorena was part of the staff of the work, but due to other artistic commitments he was replaced by Martin Slipak.
In dialogue with La Mañana del C, Martin Slipak He explained his incorporation into ART: “It is a version that absolutely respects Yasmina Reza’s text. For 12 years he took on the current directors as actors: Germán Palacios and Ricardo Darín along with Oscar Martínez and was a hit both in Argentina and in the world. Then, four years ago, it premiered with Pablo Echarri, Fernán Mirás and Mike Amigorena. A year ago Mike left the play to focus on his musical projects and I joined this great cast.”
Regarding being directed by the original actors, Martin Slipak express: “It is very particular and fun because they know the work more than anyone else. In fact, they were part of the team that adapted the original script into Spanish with the idioms from here.” Along the same lines, the actor maintained that “ART is a contemporary classic”.
On a personal basis Martin Slipak highlighted the differential of ART: “For me the play has something that many plays do not achieve, especially in commercial theater and especially today, which is being a very comical and very elevated work at the same time. Generally we find very comical texts that tend towards a certain superficiality or deeper or elevated texts that tend towards a certain solemnity. ART achieves these two things in a very elegant and very intelligent way, in addition to touching on certain universal and inexhaustible topics such as friendship. It is an unbreakable combo, it is a very effective work that passes time and continues to resonate and have the same validity as always.”
