Personnel specialized in cybercrime investigation from the Argentine Naval Prefecture raided a home in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in relation to a case of child abuse: there is one detainee.

The procedure was ordered by the Court of First Instance for Criminal, Misdemeanors and Misdemeanors No. 17, headed by Dr. Natalia Ohman, with the intervention of the Prosecutor’s Office for Criminal, Misdemeanors and Misdemeanors No. 17 of Dr. Tomás Vaccarezza, in the context of a case for the production and publication of images of child pornography.

During the raid, which occurred in a building in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, the Prefecture officers seized: a CPU, different removable memory devices, more than 300 CDs, a digital camera, two cell phones, among other items of interest to the police. cause. In addition, a 45-year-old man was arrested.

The operation, carried out by personnel from the Institution’s Cybercrime Investigations Division, was developed within the framework of the International Operation “Allies for Children III”, conceived and coordinated from Argentina, to combat the sexual exploitation of boys and girls. and adolescents, covering a total of 33 raids in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the province of Buenos Aires, Chubut, Córdoba, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santa Fé, Formosa, Jujuy, Salta, Río Negro, Tucumán and Tierra del Fuego.

The Argentine Naval Prefecture was also part of the first two stages of the investigation, carried out in August and December 2023, with procedures in the City of Buenos Aires, detention of people and seizure of evidence.

Likewise, operations were carried out in a coordinated manner in Panama, Paraguay, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Germany. These arose as a result of the joint work carried out by the authorities of the United States Embassy in Argentina, the US Department of Homeland Security of the United States, Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) and the Public Prosecutor’s Office (CABA).

At the end of the operation, the Attorney General of the City of Buenos Aires, Dr. Juan Bautista Mahiques, accompanied by the United States Ambassador, Marc Stanley, were present at the headquarters of the Judicial Investigation Corps.
