With the application of the Mathematics exam, this Tuesday the entrance tests to Higher Education corresponding to the 2023-2024 school year began in Ciego de Ávila, and throughout the country, a decisive moment for the professional future of many students who aspire to join Cuban university classrooms.

According to Vivian González Rodríguez, head of the Department of Pre-University Education of the General Directorate of Education in the province, the number of students examined is around 500, since 337 already have a pre-awarded degree and, consequently, do not take these tests .

González Rodríguez pointed out, in conversation with Invasor, the importance of the effort made by students, parents and teachers, with a view to ensuring that the applicants reached that day with the greatest possible preparation, and wished success to the young people from Avila.

The entrance tests are carried out in 11 educational centers in the province, under the premise of guaranteeing one location for each municipality.

These are the urban pre-university institutes Raúl Cervantes (Chambas), Nguyen Van Troi (Morón), José Carmona (Bolivia), Roberto Espino (First of January), Sergio Antuña (Ciro Redondo), Republic of Nicaragua (Florencia), Sergio Pérez ( Majagua), José Martí (Venezuela), Ernesto Che Guevara (Ciego de Ávila), in addition to the Mártires de Baraguá Urban Basic Secondary School, in the Baraguá municipality, and the Cándido González Pre-University Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences.

Throughout the country, more than 104,000 places are offered to study at universities, detailed in a post of the social network xDeputy Martha del Carmen Mesa Valenciano, president of the Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment Commission of the Cuban Parliament.

Next Friday, May 10, the Spanish-Literature entrance test will be taken, while the History exam will be held on the 14th. In addition, there will be a special call in each subject, for those students who have missed the ordinary test for justified reasons.

As explained on other occasions, it is no longer mandatory to obtain at least 60 points in the three tests to opt for a university degree.

The order established to obtain places in Higher Education privileges students who passed the exams with a minimum of 60 points, then those who were disapproved and, finally, those who did not take the exams.
