Transport will install noise screens on the A-4 as it passes through Villa del Río, Montoro, Pedro Abad and CórdobaFRANCISCO GONZÁLEZ
The Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility has put out to tender for 8.5 million euros the works for the development of the Action Plan against Noise in Phase II on the A-4 highway in the municipalities of Villa del Río, Montoro, Pedro Abad and Córdoba, in the province of Córdoba. The announcement will be published soon in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The action to reduce highway noise passing through the municipalities is divided into 5 zones:

In Montoro, between pk 349,980 and 351,025. Installation of acoustic screens.

In Montoro, between points 355,520 and 356,560. Installation of acoustic screens.

In Pedro Abad, between kilometer 367,625 and 369,175. Replacing the existing pavement with a sound-absorbing pavement.

In Córdoba, between pk 394,650 and 395,720. Installation of acoustic screens.

In Córdoba, between pk 394,900 and 395,800. Installation of acoustic screens.

Technical characteristics of the works
The acoustic screens will be metal, with a height of between 3 and 3.5 meters and a length of 3,831 meters and will be located in the different sections indicated within the areas of action. For its foundation, piles will be used.
The execution of the sound-absorbing pavement will be carried out between pk 367,625 and 369,175. The firm section proposed in both driveways is the same, for which 30 mm will be previously milled and a 30 mm layer of discontinuous bituminous mixture with the following characteristics will be spread: Type BBTM11B PMB 45/80-65. On the milled layer and prior to the execution of the bituminous mixture, a thermo-adhesive coating will be applied.
The adaptation of the existing longitudinal and transversal drainage is also included in the works, due to the changes that may be caused by the execution of the new protection elements.

These actions serve to comply with the provisions of Directive 2002/49/EC of June 25, of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the evaluation and management of environmental noise, which establishes a series of objectives, among which the creation of a common framework for the assessment and management of environmental noise exposure
The works are part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union NextGenerationEU.
