Camilo Charme Ackermann takes over as the new executive director of Generadoras de Chile

The Board of Generators of Chile appointed Camilo Charme Ackermann as the new executive director of the trade association, a position from which he will lead the management work of the entity that brings together the main generating and electrical storage companies in the country. Charme currently served as general manager of the organization.

Additionally, the Board of Directors decided to form an Executive Committee, made up of three representatives of its associates, which will actively collaborate in the coordination and implementation of the sector’s strategic plan. This body will be represented by Jaime Pino, president of the Board of Directors, representative of Innergex; Juan Eduardo Vásquez, director representing Colbún; and Joan Leal, director representing EDF Chile.

The president of the Board of Generators of Chile, Jaime Pino, pointed out that the new executive director “will have the challenge of positioning the vision of Generadoras de Chile in those instances where the debate occurs around regulatory and decision-making matters, with the objective of promoting public policies to modernize the sector and contribute to the materialization of initiatives that are key for generation companies to continue contributing to the energy transition and the sustainable development of the country, for which they will have all the support and guidance of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the same”.

“I appreciate the trust of the Board of Directors to lead this stage of Generadoras de Chile from this role, which I will assume with enthusiasm and the commitment of the entire executive team of the union, with the objective of strengthening the work of the association, promoting the energy agenda and “work proactively with public and private actors with the common objective of facilitating all the conditions that this strategic industry requires to continue investing in new energy and storage projects that are essential for a safe, responsible energy transition process with a long-term vision.” Charme pointed out.

Camilo Charme Ackermann is a lawyer from the Catholic University of Chile, Master in Public Law from the Pompeu Fabra University, and Master in Economics of Regulated Markets from the University of Barcelona. In addition, he has a Diploma in Business Administration (AMP-Universidad de Los Andes) and a Diploma in Corporate Government (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile).

From a professional perspective, he has extensive experience in the electricity sector, having held executive positions in distribution, transmission and generation companies, which has given him deep knowledge in the area of ​​relations with authorities and stakeholders, as well as in leadership of work teams.
