The Municipal Urban Planning Management of Córdoba redefines its structure to streamline procedures – Córdoba

The Municipal Urban Planning Management (GMU) of Córdoba has taken a significant step towards optimizing its services with the presentation of a new internal organizational chart. This ambitious plan seeks to streamline procedures for citizens and promote strategic projects for the city. The president of the GMU, Miguel Ángel Torrico, together with the manager Julián Álvarez, detailed the changes that will be submitted for consideration in the next governing council, scheduled for next week.

Torrico highlighted that this change has the primary objective of “improving the quality of service” provided to the people of Córdoba, as well as increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of Management. The proposed changes respond to various reasons, among them, the identification of citizen demands, lhe importance of the ongoing projects and the entry into force of the Law to Promote the Sustainability of the Territory in Andalusia. Torrico emphasized that the new organizational chart is only the first step towards what he called “a new Urban Planning Management”, whose transformation will include the adaptation of statutes and a review of the list of jobs (RPT).

One of the modifications already implemented is the strengthening of management positions within Management. This has led to more robust technical management, as well as the creation of two new services and seven new offices. The technical direction, led by Luis Valdelomar, will be in charge of the city’s strategic projects, such as the development of the La Rinconada industrial estate, in collaboration with the Logistics Base. The two new services created are Strategic Actions and the Presidency.

The first includes offices such as the Territory and the Historic Center, which are already working on modifying the Special Plan for the Protection of the Historic Complex (Pepch) to address the issue of solar panels. The second service consists of three new offices: Coordination and Studies, Digital Transformation and Quality. In addition, the Sustainability and Innovation office has been established, which has led to the Planning service being renamed Planning and Sustainability.

According to the president of Urban Planning, these changes mark the beginning of a new stage for the Management, which is committed to offering more efficient services adapted to the needs of citizens, as well as to promote the strategic development of the city in line with the current and future demands.
