They warn of scour on the right bank of the Guaviare River in the 20 de Julio neighborhood

A resident of the 20 de Julio neighborhood in San José del Guaviare denounces the erosion that occurs on the right bank of the Guaviare River due to the recent rains.

Jhon, a resident of Fifth Street, points out that the rains of the last two weeks have undermined part of the rockwork and the road, which after this phenomenon puts more than 20 families who live near the Guaviare River at risk.

This problem began in 2008 with a scour meters ahead and with the rising of the Guaviare River, the threat to the homes is still latent. The first fall of land took away part of the rockfill, trees and the rainwater channel.

He adds that vehicle traffic increases the risk of weakening the soil on the right bank of the river and the installation of a retaining wall only in the first undercut is not explained, which seems unfair to him.

The more than 20 families fear that the trees will be destroyed with the rising of the Guaviare River and the beginning of the winter wave that begins in this region of the country, a situation that puts their homes in danger.
