The first Culture and Tourism Commission of the Popular Party of La Rioja, held this Wednesday at its headquarters at the proposal of the Vice Secretary of Participation, has served to analyze the actions developed by the Government of Gonzalo Capellán within the framework of its future program for this region in which culture and tourism play a leading role.

“La Rioja is a privileged land with a very intense productive and creative fabric, both in culture and in the tourism field,” he noted.

In his speech, the counselor highlighted that precisely this Wednesday the Official Gazette of La Rioja published the lines of subsidies aimed at the cultural sector and local entities for the promotion of activities and the equipment, renovation or repair of cultural premises with an amount of almost 2 million euros.

Thus, the cultural sector of La Rioja will have 73% more aid than in the previous call, evident proof of the Capellán Government’s commitment to culture as a driving and backbone element, which contributes to making the region.

“La Rioja has magnificent corners from Aguilar to Canales and from Alfaro to Foncea, but one of them is also the only one in the world, because no other part of the planet is as linked to the written birth of a language as San Millán is. from Cogolla to the origins of our language”, he recalled. In this sense, he recalled that the Government of La Rioja is already working on a large exhibition about San Millán and the origins of the language for 2026.

In the field of culture, he pointed out that “we are in a truly fertile and rich land for creativity, and therefore our work and objective is to take advantage of the rich creative fabric in each and every one of the municipalities, dressing La Rioja of cultural activity, relying on the continuous contact we have with the Riojan creative sector and cultural industries.

The counselor has thus referred to cycles such as Teatrea, Escenario Vivo, el patio de Doña Jacinta or Actual, in a commission in which he appeared accompanied by the deputy secretary of Participation of the PP of La Rioja, Mariate Antoñanzas, and the president of the Commission, Óscar Robres.

Regarding the field of tourism, the head of the Ministry has pointed out that “we found tourism policies that needed to know where to go.” “La Rioja is a land full of possibilities that deserves quality, responsible tourism that helps maintain its authenticity and values, around culture, rural areas and food and wine,” the counselor explained.

Looking to the near future, he pointed out that a series of contacts have already been initiated with the sector “to carry out an in-depth analysis of the situation and, in parallel, we are developing digital tools that will increase the competitiveness of the region, as well as the professionalization of a key sector”, concluded Pérez Pastor.

“We are in a truly fertile and rich land for creativity, and therefore our job is to dress all our municipalities with culture and cultural activities, relying on the continuous contact we have with the Riojan creative sector and the Riojan cultural industries.”
