The community of parents and guardians of the Siglo XXI School of Placilla-Curauma protested this morning in front of the educational establishment, due to a series of negative situations that keep those who study there, their families and workers on alert.
The problems have been going on for months with the El Bosque Corporation, the supporter of the educational establishment, however, in recent days three serious situations have been recorded that overwhelmed the patience of the schoolchildren and their guardians.
It all started on Thursday of last week, with the dismissal of most of the establishment’s assistants and cleaning staff, which left the maintenance of the school in a precarious situation.
After that, two parallel situations, in the context of a first protest yesterday, where parents decided not to send their children to school. This meant that the schoolchildren were providentially not affected by the collapse of a roof and the various leaks that flooded several spaces, many of them intended for the little ones.
Added to this is the presence of mice, which wandered in the courtyard of the institution, in full view and patience of the few schoolchildren who arrived for classes yesterday. A fact that is of special concern from a health point of view.
All of this led to this morning’s demonstration, where the parents asked for the departure of the director of Colegio Siglo XXI, Maritza Ximena Rodríguez.
All of the situations described above were reported directly to the regional office of the Superintendence of Education.
