The government of Javier Milei dealt a hard blow to Luis Barrionuevo, one day before the general strike of the CGT. The Ministry of Labor, led by Julio Cordero, recognized Dante Camano the control of the Buenos Aires delegation of the gastronomic union of the Union of Hotel and Gastronomic Workers of the Argentine Republic (UTHGRA). In this way, the libertarian management gets into the internal conflict between the two union members and rejects the management of resources to whoever was the promoter of the President in the last campaign.
Labor issued the certification of authorities to the leadership of the Buenos Aires delegation of the UTHGRA in favor of Camaño, ex-brother-in-law and opponent of Barrionuevo. The conflict began after 2021 elections in the union, that Barrionuevo prosecuted and obtained an intervention through a ruling from the Chamber I of the National Chamber of Labor Appeals only in 2023. Thus, he was able to manage the union’s collection in the dispute he had with his former brother-in-law.
After that ruling, the barrionuevismo celebrated the fact, given that this was how it became “end to the illegitimate and absurd pretension of continuity of those mentioned in the representation of the gastronomic hotel workers of the City of Buenos Airesand determines its absolute illegality in the representation and occupation of the Headquarters, its assets and assets that are the pure and exclusive property of the NATIONAL UTHGRA“.
However, the decision made known now returns the situation to the internal elections through which Camaño (for the Gray list) assured to retain power within the union. In the note issued by the Department of Institutional Affairs, they decided to incorporate “provisionally” the list of elected authorities in 2021, whose mandate should have begun in March 2022, while awaiting the resolution of the protection in the Judiciary.
