The Central General Staff of the FARC requested the suspension of military operations for a period of 48 hours in three municipalities of Cauca for the release of two officials from the Attorney General’s Office and a civilian, kidnapped by the Dagoberto Ramos column in the north of the department.
The organization outside the law in a statement indicated that the Government puts the lives of three people at risk with military actions taking place in this area of the country
“In the last two weeks, those detained have been victims of military assaults and thanks to the maneuver and expertise of the units that guard them, They have been taken alive from the places of confrontations; They are in permanent movement between the municipalities of Cauca under our control“said the armed group.
He added that “in these military actions the National Army has resulted in two dead soldiers and two wounded in Tacueyó, in addition to the two dead soldiers in Silvia, In this last assault, the lives, safety and integrity of those detained were put at serious risk.”.
Raúl Magé, son of Betty Amanda Magé, a kidnapped official, stated that “the truth is that the anguish is growing, we are very worried that the days will pass and the release will not occur (…) We do not know in what state the negotiations are progressing.. What we hope as families is that a humanitarian agreement is reached so that a corridor is enabled and our loved ones are released.”
Betty Amanda Magé, Gerson Rivera and María Yeni Ruiz They were kidnapped on April 19 when they chose to take an alternate route before a blockage on the Pan-American highway between Cauca and Valle del Cauca.
