The great Rosario painter Manuel Martínez, presents “Expressionism and Landscapes. Unpublished works,” says the artist, “are works made in 2023 and 2024, they are made with a lot of expressive freedom. Most of them are landscapes and floral motifs from Funes and the Litoral; resolved with solvency, with spontaneity, a free palette, using dyes in maximum saturation and contrast.” Then he adds: “These works are made with oil, thick brushes that carry a lot of material, achieving more power.” Asked about the selection of paintings that will be part of the exhibition, he said: “we selected the work in accordance with the curator with whom we spoke in multiple opportunities.” Later he comments “The theme of the exhibition is essentially the human being and his environment, although human figures do not appear, but rather elements that human beings enjoy.” He finally closes: “The title of the exhibition is somewhat difficult to define because there are different themes. It is a change from other exhibitions. He could be called the “New Martinez.”

The small gallery appeals to the integration and encounter of contemporary art and public space, in a territory of intensification and horizontal dialogue. The space is aimed at the plastic arts, where genres and artistic disciplines intersect. In a city determined by its dizzying and voracious urban growth. The initiative seeks to create spaces for neighborhood meeting and communication, activate and make visible the lines that symbolically connect heritage spaces, both material and immaterial, projecting them both in our present and in our future.
