The Cabinet reviewed a series of public and private projects essential for the development of the different productive sectors in the area.

The Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow; together with the Undersecretary of Labor, Giorgio Boccardo; and the Presidential Delegate of Arica and Parinacota, Ricardo Sanzana, led the Pro Growth and Employment Cabinet held in the city of Aricaan instance that aims to review the state of progress and expedite the completion of various public and private investment projects in the region.

“This cabinet had a first part where we listened particularly to the private sector and We try to find ways of action that accelerate investment and job creation at the regional level, mainly associated with various energy projects, which also affects us as the energy sector, makes us very happy,” said Pardow.

The head of the Energy portfolio added that the actions regarding public investment were also analyzed with the local seremis, “aimed directly at the construction of roads, public infrastructure, coves, among others. It was a very good meeting that allowed us to define clear deadlines and responsible parties for what comes next,” he added.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Labor, Giorgio Boccardo, pointed out that “for our Government and our Ministry It is essential to create formal jobs and, ideally, that these jobs are generated in the Arica and Parinacota Region itself with people who are from the area. Our task is to unblock and deliver the tools that are required, making the services available, so that the goals that have been set are met.”

Renewable energy projects

During the meeting they reviewed the progress of 7 private investment projects in the area for more than US$ 900 million, mainly related to renewable energies, in addition to the real estate and logistics sector. Likewise, 140 public investment initiatives projected in the region in areas such as health, security and connectivity were reviewed.

During his visit to Arica and Parinacota, Minister Pardow visited the construction works of the Roncacho substation located in the commune of Camarones, which will begin operation in the coming weeks. This initiative will allow the connection of the Nueva Pozo Almonte – Parinacota line, which in turn will facilitate the installation of new photovoltaic projects in the area, such as Celda Solar or Alwa.
