Two dead sheep and one person scratched in the neck leave the attacks of a feline in the vicinity of the El Hachón property of the SENA and the Taladro School, in a rural area of ​​Villavicencio, on the route that leads to Puerto López.

The attack on the sheep occurred last February and a security guard at the SENA headquarters, last Thursday, May 2, according to the information provided by the community to the city’s environmental authorities.

Last Thursday, once the attack on the security guard became known, the Cormacarena environmental corporation activated the response protocols and began to address the contingency. reported veterinary doctor Hans Guaycán.

That same night, a series of search actions were coordinated, such as tracking in the sector with the team of veterinarians and biologists, as well as using drone technology equipped with thermal cameras.

Despite these efforts made on Thursday night, the specimen was not located, and it is still not certain whether it is an ocelot, a puma or another species of feline, Guayacán explained.

After tracking down the case last Thursday, the environmental corporation received additional reports of similar attacks on the same property, corresponding to the death of the two sheep.

For this reason, these cases continue to be investigated and surveillance and tracking measures have been intensified in the area to ensure the safety of the entire community and maintains alertness and all lines of communication open to respond effectively to any situation that arises.
