Reaffirming and fulfilling the commitments made with the neighbors, Mayor Jorge Calderón revealed the sports infrastructure projects that will be carried out during the coming months in the commune, tasks that will positively impact the population by generating more employment and recreational spaces. for the inhabitants of the “Baker’s Land”.
The communal chief broke the news after reviewing the progress made to date by the synthetic grass field of the Estrella Del Baker Sports Club, which in the coming weeks will become the second institution that has its own facilities with a modern surface for the practice of baby soccer in the area, joining what the Hospital Sports Club currently has.
“We are inspecting the progress of the construction work of the synthetic grass multi-field of the Estrella del Baker Sports Club in Cochrane. A work presented by our municipality and executed with resources from the Regional Government of Aysén, which has a very important percentage of progress and which will allow us within the next few weeks to make the Sports Club available to the community and also to the neighbors and neighbors of the commune this new sports space”declared the mayor.
For Calderón, the agility with which the municipality is working has been key to accelerating the construction of this type of infrastructure, which, in his words, ““It allows us to create spaces for the different disciplines and at the same time generate employability, absorption of labor and boost the local economy, which is also the purpose of generating this type of investment.”
In that sense and in a very specific way, the mayor pointed out with figures how the commune has grown with this type of investments, since in 2021 the city had only two multi-courts and under his administration they will seek to increase the number to eight, which They will be deployed throughout the different sectors of Cochrane.
“By 2023, we will incorporate two new infrastructures, the Nuevo Horizonte sector field and the first synthetic grass field in the Hospital Sports Club, adding a fifth that we hope to deliver very soon for the Estrella del Baker Sports Club. That is to say, we went from two to five works carried out and after that we have the resources of the Regional Government to be able to build three additional spaces that have the support of the Municipal Council and that should then allow us to build a multi-court for the EBADEC Club, another court of synthetic grass to install in our municipal stadium and an infrastructure that we must define with Neighborhood Unit No. 4. Therefore, we believe that we have given very specific elements to strengthen the spaces for the generation of sport in our commune,” hill.
Regarding the amounts invested, the figure for these six works (executed, in progress and soon to be put out to tender) reaches $910,881,123 million pesoswhose financing unit is run by the Regional Government of Aysén and the Undersecretary of Regional and Administrative Development (SUBDERE), for the materialization of these projects that were presented by the team of the Community Planning Secretariat of the Municipality of Cochrane and that They will join new works focused on converting the municipal stadium into a modern sports complex in the region.
