The unfortunate event occurred last Tuesday afternoon, when the victim identified as Carlos Arturo Solarte, was driving a motorcycle through the rural area accompanied by his wife and minor son.

It was in broad daylight that several unknown individuals interrupted their passage along a stretch of track plate that leads from the urban area of Pitalito to the Bombonal village of the town of Brussels.
According to the known information, the heavily armed individuals attacked him with bullets and riddled him in front of his loved ones. In this way, the victim received several projectiles at the height of his head, causing him to fall to the floor, leaving him without vital signs next to his means of transportation.
His wife and son were only paralyzed by the terrible scene they experienced. After achieving their goal, the executioners quickly escaped from the place without leaving a trace of their whereabouts.
As of press time, the reasons behind the crime were unknown. People passing by the place proceeded to help the woman and the minor, reporting the case to the Police. They later coordinated the transfer of the body to the municipality to begin urgent actions.
