More than 200 businessmen from the tourism sector from the entire department of Huila participated in the First Regional Tourism Meeting that was held in Neiva, as a showcase for promote the tourist offers that are available in the different municipalities.
In this space, entrepreneurs, suppliers and business ideas associated with tourism generated relationships and had the opportunity to forge commercial alliances, also expressing new ideas that contribute to strengthening this important economic sector.
Jhon Chávarro, coordinator of strategic sectors of the Huila Chamber of Commerce, expressed that, “we have a positive blanace in our first tourism meeting, which yielded important numbers of visitors, 203 business appointments and sales expectations of approximately 350 million pesos.”
In addition, he highlighted the inter-institutional alliance that allowed the development of this activity in a positive and productive way for the tourism sector. “We hope, together with everyone and together with the Huila Chamber of Commerce, to be able to carry out more initiatives like these that allow us to promote and promote tourism in Huila.”
Within the chaining wheel, the participation of 20 operating agencies and travel agencies as buyers and 46 businessmen in the tourism sector (accommodation, transportation, restaurants, tour guides, theme parks, etc.) stand out.
More than 500 people participated in the different activities and conferences offered within the framework of the event, which allowed not only to show the different tourism service providers but also to train them in topics such as international tourism promotion, innovation and tourism entrepreneurship and management. destination and community tourism.
Rafael Quintero, entrepreneur of the “Granja Chihuahua” brand, stated that, “For us, these events are very important to be able to make our brand and our product known in Huila and the idea is that we make ourselves known nationally, so that people who come to Huila know our service offering and visit us.”
