Cutting to epidemiological week 18, that is, to Tuesday, May 7, it was recorded in the city of Pereira, a total of 1,222 cases of dengue, of which 757 were confirmed by laboratory tests, while 465 were considered probable.
It was known that 605 affected have required hospitalization, 550 have been classified as dengue with warning signs, and eight people have been diagnosed with severe dengue.

The Ministry of Health maintains its mitigation actions with fumigation in communities such as Cuba, San Joaquín, Olímpica, Villasantana, Río Otún, del Café and the district of Puerto Caldas, with more than 18 thousand homes reached. Likewise, with door-to-door visits in the sectors with the highest number of reported cases to provide education and review breeding sites.
The authorities reiterate the prevention of dengue by washing the tank every five days with a brush, soap and limpid, cleaning objects that can accumulate clean water and when symptoms appear, do not self-medicate and go to the primary care IPS.
