Although the points of his residence in the capital cannot be precisely determined, “it is assumed that the first steps of his childhood would be taken in the house of his grandfather Juan de Cervantes, in the parish collation of Santo Domingowhere we know he lived in the year 1555, and where his son Rodrigo de Cervantes, father of our famous writer, would reside,” Adamuz’s work points out.

The president of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Fine Letters and Noble Arts of Córdoba, Jose Cosanohas stated that the fact that the famous universal writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra was born in Córdoba and not in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), as concluded by a new investigation by José de Contreras y Saro, would be “something fundamental” for Córdoba culture, while “increasing the Córdoba brand.”

Cosano has highlighted that, in any case, the writer’s family “unquestionably” is from Córdoba and there are “close to 50 jobs» in the bulletin of the Royal Academy, in charge of studying the history of Córdoba and its province, which «abound in that nature».
