May cultural agenda in Santa Fe

In the hall of the Municipal Theater 1° de Mayo, the cultural agenda for May was presented this Wednesday, where three events stand out: the Cultural Route of the Temples; the Night of Ideas; and the Patriotic Gala of the Municipal Theater.

All the programming can be consulted in the following link.

The Secretary of Culture of the Municipality, Luciana Ceresolathe Undersecretary of Management of Sociocultural and Artistic Spaces, Pablo Villaverdeand the director of the Cooperation, Investment and Foreign Trade Agency (ACICE), Lucila Garciawere responsible for giving details about these proposals and everything else that Santa Fe will have during this month.

First of all, Luciana Ceresola clarified that this agenda is presented today because it marks 20 years since the approval of Culture Agenda 21, which “lays the foundations and principles on which the public policies of different local governments should be built” so he considered that “It is a very important date” and immediately mentioned the three most notable events of this month and claimed joint work with the municipal Undersecretariat of Tourism and the provincial government.

Furthermore, within the activities of the month, we can highlight the cast of Puppets that took place again in the Theater hall with three different works. It started on the 4th, and will continue on the 11th and 18th. We are also going to launch on May 18, which is International Museum Day, the call for Museum Night, which will take place on September 14, where we want everyone , both public and private, can open the doors to show their heritage, collections, exhibitions, and provide a greater offer to both Santa Fe residents and tourists.”, Ceresola said.

Then he added: “We also have the provincial Festival of classic and antique cars and motorcycles at the Belgrano Station, in conjunction with the Province, which will be on May 18 and 19, with free entry. We also start with the Afternoons at the Market: Fair + family activities, especially for children. And we will be collaborating in the inauguration of the exhibition of Polish architecture that will be held in the hall of the Belgrano Station and that will be organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the UNL, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Buenos Aires and the College of Architecture and Urbanism of the Province of Santa Fe”.

Before closing, the official mentioned the Patriotic Gala that will be held in the Sala Mayor of the Municipal Theater that will take place on Friday, May 24. The Provincial Symphony Orchestra will give a concert with a traditional repertoire.

Temple Cultural Trail

The Cultural Trail of the Temples offers a unique experience to share and discover the richness of the religious, artistic, historical and architectural heritage of emblematic temples located in the center and south of the city. Two guided itineraries “Camino del Centro” and “Camino del Sur” and the traditional Paseo del Cementerio will take place on Saturday, May 11, with a varied and complete program that includes activations, concerts and exhibitions.

This initiative, organized by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Undersecretariat of Tourism, will take place on the eve of the “World Day of Coexistence in Peace”, which highlights the diversity of religious and spiritual practices that coexist in the city and recognizes the importance of communities and active groups that work clearly and decisively in favor of peace, unity, cooperation and fraternity in different areas of life.

The points will be 10 within three routes: from the South; from the center; and the Municipal Cemetery. The buildings included are: Temple and Museum of the Israelite Community; Santa Fe Masonry; Evangelical Christian Church (La Rioja 3021); Cathedral Courtyard and Sacred Heart Church; Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel; Church of the Miracles and Jesuit block; All Saints Church Metropolitan Cathedral; Temple and Convent of San Francisco; Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church and Santo Domingo Convent.

This activity seeks to revalue the different institutions linked to spirituality or philosophy and the cultural, heritage, and historical heritage that they possess both inside and outside their buildings. It is a unique experience to get to know different places that perhaps not all Santa Fe residents have access to and that generates a new vision within what this type of activities is within the city of Santa Fe.”, highlighted the Secretary of Culture.

For his part, the undersecretary of Management of Sociocultural and Artistic Spaces, Pablo Villaverde mentioned that “Almost all of these points will have their own musical offering to crown all the routes.””. In this sense, there will be three musical activities, one is in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Miracles with the “Sound experience: Cavaillé-Col. Opus 589” by organist Manuel Marina.

Another is “Cantos del alma”, a concert by Estudio Coral Meridies, under the direction of Virginia Bono, in the Oratory of the Municipal Cemetery. “And then we also have at 4 p.m. in the Metropolitan Cathedral, in the parish of Todos los Santos, a Concert by the Sacred Choir of the Catholic University of Santa Fe, under the direction of Miguel Piva,” Villaverde added.

The three mentioned above will happen from 4 p.m.; while at 7:30 p.m. there is the presentation of the A Cordis Choir, under the direction of Jorge Céspedes, at the Santafesina Masonry; and at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. the performance of the vocal group Volver a Nacer, gospel music, will take place at the Evangelical Christian Church (La Rioja 3021).

The night of ideas

Following this line, it is also worth highlighting the Night of Ideas that raises the cultural offering of the City of Santa Fe’s agenda. The director of the Cooperation, Investment and Foreign Trade Agency (ACICE), Lucila García, said about this proposal : “It nourishes it with something international because this event is not only seen in Argentina but around the world. In our country we are going to have it on May 15 and 16 in eight cities simultaneously, in our city it will take place on May 17. It is a cultural meeting and also of social sciences, where different discussion panels, art samples, offers of all kinds, among others, can be held.”.

It is an event organized by the different French institutes: the French Embassy in Argentina, the French Alliance Network, together with the Medifé Foundation and the municipality and the province join in. “The Night of Ideas, beyond all the offer that there will be and we will see different events. In the city of Santa Fe, on May 17 at 6 p.m. the photographic exhibition “Guardians of history: Heritage, architecture and training in the Grand Poitiers – Santa Fe decentralized Cooperation Project” will be inaugurated.”, he said.

And I add: “It is a photographic exhibition that reflects the heritage of the city of Santa Fe in reference to the French reminiscences that we have within different buildings and architectural constructions. It will reflect what was a training of trainers regarding how to recover these buildings. It is a cooperation that has been going on for more than 10 years between both cities and being able to have it and show it to the people of Santa Fe at the night of ideas highlights the importance of the relationship that we have with France.”.

There will also be a discussion with Franco-Argentine guests: Anita Pouchard Serra and Marco Teruggi. Moderated by Professor Gustavo Peretti; and at 9:30 p.m. a Camerata Eleutheria will take place, under the direction of maestro Manuel A. Marina.
