Engie Chile completed the construction stage of the future Roncacho Substation, in the commune of Camarones (Chile).

It is an electrical substation that cuts the 220 kV Nueva Pozo Almonte – Parinacota line, which is part of the National Transmission System established by Exempt Decree No. 231 of the Ministry of Energy, an initiative that was awarded by the company in a bidding process. public.

Construction began in April 2023 and the first tests for commissioning, energization and future connection to the National Electrical System have already begun.

Currently, Engie Chile operates more than 2,000 kilometers of transmission lines, and more than 30 substations, and also has 4 substations under construction, expansion works on lines and substations, and also improvements in transmission infrastructure.

The land where the future electrical substation is located – which is located on a site of approx. 3 hectares – is property of the Treasury and was delivered by the Ministry of National Assets to Engie. It is located approx. 7 km southwest of the town of Chaca and 35 km northeast of the town of Camarones.
