Police seized more than 3.7 million dollars in heroin

According to the authorities’ assessment, the shipment would reach a value of 802 million pesos in the production area, which would increase to 3.7 million dollars in the international market.

During the investigation, it was learned that this transnational multi-crime organization had used labels with the logo of a club.Guayaquil sports team, the Police seized around 1,000 of these labels.

For his part, the director of the Police, General William René Salamanca, stated that in this way they continue to affect finances against drug trafficking, “This operation is part of the comprehensive offensive against drug trafficking, especially against the heroin phenomenon that we have detected on the border with the sister country of Ecuador, with which we have been working jointly, in coordination with the DEA,” said General Salamanca Ramirez.

With these actions, criminal organizations seek to convert the municipality of Buesaco in the axis of heroin production and trafficking, taking advantage of the topographic conditions that allow the planting of poppy and heroin crops.
