“Narcos behind bars”: PFA arrested three people linked to drug trafficking in prison

The field tasks, ordered by the National Criminal and Federal Correctional Court No. 1, in charge of Dr. María Romilda Servini, Secretariat No. 2 in charge of Dr. Hugo Mendieta, began after determining different narcotic distribution maneuvers to and from the Devoto prison.

In previous investigations, a former member of Unit No. 2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service, already detained, was discovered who brought narcotics into the prison, to later sell them to the inmates. Likewise, it was established that an inmate from that same unit was supplied by her partner, who was arrested when she tried to bring cocaine among her youngest daughter’s clothes.

Consequently, as a result of that woman’s testimony and the analysis carried out on her electronic devices, two of the suppliers of the substances seized during those episodes were identified. From there, five homes located in the towns of Malvinas Argentinas, Bernal and in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Constitución were raided, where drug marketing activities were carried out, some of them under the facade of restaurants, after which He arrested two men and a woman.

As a result of the operation, more than one and a half kilos of marijuana, doses of cocaine, 1,693,870 pesos in cash, 15 cell phones, three precision scales, a tablet, a private car and other documentation were seized. The detainees, along with the seized items, were placed at the disposal of the Intervening Magistrate for violation of the Drug Law.
