Las Tunas.- Some 42 foreign companies make up the client portfolio of the Agroint Las Tunas company, which constitutes a market guarantee for the different exportable products, as stated by its general director, Alberto González Hernández.

He pointed out that it is the entity’s interest to incorporate other lines of marketing abroad and among them he mentioned construction materials, especially mud bricks, white sand and various types of gravel, which already have identified clients.
“We are looking for markets for glass as a raw material, with more than 500 tons in stock, as well as the fiber and substrate of coconut, sweet potato, cassava, pumpkin, eggplant and okra. Possible sales of marabou firewood are also managed.
“In addition, progress is being made in other businesses such as agribusiness. We will precisely receive a foreign company interested in these projects because in the municipality of Jobabo we have one, with a grinding capacity of 35 tons per eight-hour shifts.
“In the same period of time, that facility generates eight tons of finished products. But today it is limited due to a lack of raw materials such as sugars, preservatives and packaging, so we are looking for an alliance in the form of cooperative production that allows us to ensure these inputs.
“If the agreements are finalized, it will be guaranteed to take advantage of all the capacity of the plant, ensure a market abroad for a part of these fruit and vegetable productions and market the majority of it for the domestic market,” he pointed out.
González Hernández said that during 2023, 482 tons of products were exported, especially charcoal and habanero chili peppers. On the other hand, only in the first four months of the current calendar, 960.6 tons of these products and bananas were sold abroad.
“Already in the second year of Agroint as the province’s export hub, we are immersed in the change of structure that we require and in involving a greater number of producers because, despite the nature of the agricultural system, the company is for all actors. economics of Las Tunas and Cuba.
“Through our entity, interested parties can find the opportunity to materialize their businesses with external trade, which results from participation in international events such as Expocaribe and the Havana International Fair,” he concluded.
