These are the road detours due to the closure of Quebradaseca Avenue in Bucaramanga

Since last May 21, a section of Avenida Quebradaseca, between Mesón de Los Búcaros and Carrera 30, in Bucaramanga, was closed for an indefinite period of time. Find out which detours are currently in place and which alternative corridors you can use.

Instead of Avenida Quebradaseca, to travel from the Center or the west to the east of Bucaramanga, consider options such as streets 33, 36 and 45, as well as Avenida La Rosita. (Photos: Marco Valencia / VANGUARDIA)

A stretch of road approximately three blocks long was disabled on Avenida Quebradaseca, in the west – east direction (exit towards Cúcuta), as a result of the collapse recorded in the middle of a private work that is being carried out on the corner of Carrera 30.

The collapse of the soil resulted in harming, in addition to the private property in question, the public space. A large part of the platform collapsed and the vehicular road was left a few centimeters away from the abyss that was created by this emergency.

This busy artery, where hundreds of heavy-duty vehicles and passenger vehicles circulate daily, will have these road closures for an indefinite period of time. Technical analyzes are currently being carried out on the collapse that was recorded, in order to determine the actions to be taken to mitigate the risk that exists in the event of possible new land collapses.

Get rid of the traffic jams that occur in the area in the event of this eventuality. Vanguardia informs you of the alternative routes and detours that are implemented for now.

Route along 20th Street

If you usually use Quebradaseca Avenue to travel between the west and east of the city, above the Mesón de Los Búcaros you will encounter said road closure, so you must continue through the roundabout to the north to connect with Carrera 27.

On Carrera 27 you must go two blocks north, to go up Calle 20. Then you must go up three blocks until you reach Carrera 30, and then turn south in search of Quebradaseca again.

“For now, the vehicles are entering through 20th Street and joining Quebradaseca again through Carrera 30,” as specified by the Bucaramanga Transit Directorate.

At this time, the authorities are waiting for the builder responsible for the work that collapsed to deliver an “emergency traffic plan” for the implementation of an alternative route along roads that have greater traffic capacity, taking into account taking into account the large number of heavy-duty motor vehicles that are mobilized.

During the last three days, vehicle backups have been recorded on the Quebradaseca, due to the road closures that were applied.

From the center

If you are in the central area of Bucaramanga or in the west, and your destination is located in the east of the plateau, it is suggested that you use alternative routes to avoid getting stuck in the Quebradaseca.

Instead, consider options such as 33rd, 36th and 45th Streets, as well as Avenida La Rosita.

Given the closures implemented, the Bucaramanga Transit Directorate provided personnel to guide drivers in the corridors that are subject to detour.
