This Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, Guayacán Campus of the Universidad Católica del Norte will receive visits to the UCN Aquarium and Museum and on Sunday will take a guided tour within the framework of Heritage Day.

Throughout the weekend, the Universidad Católica del Norte, Coquimbo headquarters, will open its doors to receive families who want to visit the heritage sites of the Guayacán Campus on a tour full of history and symbolism.

Starting at 09:30 in the morning, the UCN Aquarium and Museum will open its doors so that children, along with their families, can learn about marine species from the Coquimbo Region, tour the interactive pool and get close to invertebrate species. mariners of the area. In addition, families can visit the Museum where dissected samples of echinoderms, mollusks, crustaceans, marine fossils, reptiles, birds and marine mammals are exhibited.

Paula Cavieres Zepeda, Secretary of Liaison with the UCN Environment, states that it is an opportunity for the community to visit historical points of the university, “as a Higher Education Institution we open the doors to families to share our cultural and educational legacy, being “part of our social commitment and highlighting the pride of our history.”

The tour also includes a view of the Mural called “The Medicine of Indo-America to the Third Millennium”, made by the artist Daniel Palominos Ramos, located at the UCN Faculty of Medicine. To then continue with the visit to the 8M Collective Mural, created in commemoration of March 8 and which highlights the contribution of women to education, executed by the regional muralist Iván Jorquera Olivares.

The last point to visit is the Memorial for Life “The Last Hug”, designed by UCN student Rossio Bujes Cuadra, to pay tribute to all the people who left during the pandemic and which was materialized by the Coquimba sculptor Tomás Briceño Barraza.
