Lost in the Amazon premieres on June 9 on Max – Funcinema

On May 1, 2023, a small plane crashed in the deepest part of the Colombian Amazon jungle, leaving four children from the Uitoto indigenous community, between 1 and 13 years old, as the only survivors, while the three adults who accompanied them , including his mother, died. Starting June 9, the documentary Lost in the Amazonavailable on Max, will recreate the 40 days of search that united the Colombian Army and the Indigenous Guard, traditionally at odds, with a common objective: to find the four children.

Within the framework of the anniversary of Operation Hope, the name given to the search plan, Lost in the Amazonpresents all the voices involved during this event to relive the miracle of the encounter through the testimonies of the children’s grandparents, Pedro Sánchez, the General of the Armed Forces, Nicolás Ordoñez, one of the indigenous people who found the children and José Alejandro Castaño, chronicler who joined the army mission.

This documentary, which has the Max Original label, produced by En Cero Coma Producciones (Fremantle) and Lulo Films, immerses the viewer for 60 minutes in the mysteries of the Amazon, highlighting both the rawness and beauty of the environment. In addition, it offers a deep reflection on the reality of indigenous communities and the Western perspective, showing how two antagonistic cultures come together in the face of adversity.

Without recreated or fictional scenes, Lost in the Amazon It features exclusive material, such as the video of the experts arriving at the plane, real clips of the army commander and his troops, and the exciting moment when the children are finally found.
