The Rioja wines from Aldeanueva de Ebro and the fleas are the stars of the XV Entreviñas Fair this weekend in the stalls set up in the Plaza de España and its surroundings. This Saturday at 12:00 p.m. the inauguration took place.

The mayor, Ángel Fernández, highlighted “the enthusiasm and desire to showcase our vineyards, wines, wineries and way of being, with music and joy.” He encouraged people to try the wine normally and remembered the manager of Bodegas del Medievo, Joseba (who died in an accident while mountaineering on May 25). Due to this event, the winery has not participated in the event.

The Minister of Agriculture, Noemí Manzanos, attended on behalf of the Government of La Rioja. She said that “this fair causes envy to the rest of the municipalities and Aldeanueva is a benchmark, a sea of ​​vineyards that is part of a denomination that will turn 100 years old in 2025 and of which we all have to be proud.”

He put on the table the need to recover Rioja from being the envy of the rest of the denominations. He asked the entire public to be ambassadors of this product.

The program for this first day included a morning performance by the Tuna Universitaria Complutense de Madrid, a women’s team. In the afternoon there was a concert by the group Son de Rosas (Tribute to La Oreja de Van Gogh).

Sunday with stalls, inflatables, games and tastings

This Sunday the stalls will open again from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During this time, the little ones will be able to enjoy the children’s inflatables on Cortijo Street for 5 euros all morning and for another 5 euros all afternoon.

At 12:00 the duo The Nowhere Plan (tribute to The Beatles) will perform and a tasting competition is planned on Cava Street directed by the Wine Brotherhood. It costs 5 euros and as a prize there will be two lots from the Rioja Oriental Wine Route.

The toy library will organize a children’s workshop at 7:00 p.m. on Cortijo Street for 5 euros and at 8:00 p.m. the municipal music band will perform a parade.

The wine cellar at the Wine Museum is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In the fossal (next to the church) you can purchase tickets for the vineyard train for 1 euro. It has 55 seats and will leave at 11:15, 12:15, 1:15 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.; and for visits to the Stork’s Balcony, at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., for 1 euro to enjoy a 360-degree view from the parish tower.

This Sunday, the most exquisite palates have the opportunity to attend a tasting of great Aldeanueva wines at the Bodega del Cura, at 11:45, 12:30 and 1:15 p.m., lasting 45 minutes. This activity is aimed at groups of 15 people and its price is 20 euros.

There will be no shortage of visits to the wineries and tastings at the Mirador de las Viñas and the ‘Viña-Bar’, in both cases the tickets cost 7 euros. The ‘Viña-Park’ is a new adventure place for children for 10 euros. With various schedules.
